COLLUMINA is an exhibition project in public space and selected museums in the city of Cologne. From March 22 to 24, 2018, a temporary exhibition space will be created with works by international artists who use light as material, medium or metaphor. Curator Bettina Pelz and art historian Ralf-P. Seippel from the House of Foundations / Gallery Seippel develop with COLLUMINA a framework to open a new exhibition context for artists who make light their material. Pelz and Seippel are supported by the curators of RESPONSIVE Halifax and INTERFERENCE Tunis, with whom there is a close, continent-wide collaboration.

Along the Via Culturalis, through the center of Cologne, runs the course, including positions in the Museum of Applied Arts Cologne (MAKK), the Chocolate Museum and the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM). Further selected public spaces are the House of Foundations / Galerie Seippel vis à vis the Römerturm, the Holzmarkt and the inner courtyard of the administration of the BAUWENS group of companies.

The international art project COLLUMINA is made possible by foundations and sponsors with a clear commitment to Cologne as a city that offers space for new formats and unusual forms of artistic articulation. The initiative for the project comes from the House of Foundations / Galerie Seippel and is supported by the Dres. Ines and Jürgen Graf Foundation for Art, Culture and Industrial Design, the Peto Madew Cultural Foundation and the Galerie Seippel. Support also comes from the Imhoff Foundation, the BAUWENS Group of Companies and the Ebner Stolz – Wirtschaftsprüfer Steuerberater Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft mbB.

Open to the public daily from 7.00 pm to Midnight.
Free of charge.
